David Darling: Theme Music Cellist David Darling composed and played the theme music of Lost Forever EVERETT RUESS. Darling's distinctive and haunting works have been featured in Jean Luc Godard's NOUVELLE VAGUE and Wim Wenders' UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD. Darling, an ECM recording artist, is an alumnus of the Paul Winter Consort and Spiro Gyra. Also featured in Lost Forever EVERETT RUESS are the works of Utah musician Mike Kirkland with performances by singer/guitarist Bob Moss. |
Diane Orr: Director/Producer/Writer/Editor Diane Orr directed and wrote SL-l, (with C. Larry Roberts), a documentary investigation of the United State's first fatal nuclear reactor explosion in 1961. The Village Voice called SL-1 "an expressionistic meditation on the most mysterious episode in the annals of nuclear power," while The New York Times called it "an enormously sobering record" and the San Francisco Chronicle said, "SL-1 makes THE CHINA SYNDROME and SILKWOOD look like pale figments of the imagination." SL-1 premiered at the 1983 Telluride Film Festival, won the Joseph Von Sternberg Prize for Most Original Film at the 1983 International Mannheim Filmweek and was theatrically distributed by Landmark Theaters. Orr has written and directed many award-winning documentaries. THE PLAN (with C. Larry Roberts) was the season premiere on INDEPENDENT FOCUS, WNET and SIGNED ORIGINAL, WNET. Jeune Cinema , Paris called THE PLAN an "original painting of masculine oppression," Telerama, Paris described THE PLAN as "a passionate American documentary." Orr received a Utah Humanities Grant and a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship to develop Lost Forever EVERETT RUESS. Premiered at Taos Talking Pictures 2000, the movie was described as "an unforgettable exploration of the wilderness, both inside us and out." Telluride's MountainFilm called Lost Forever EVERETT RUESS "a gloriously bold and ingenious capturing of much that is known of the life and death of Ruess." indieWire describes Lost Forever EVERETT RUESS as a "striking venture into the mix of memory, fiction and nonfiction." D.W. Leitner: Producer, Director of Photography Leitner has over 40 producer/director and cinematographer credits in feature-length documentary films. He co-produced 1990 Oscar-nominated FOR ALL MANKIND (Jury & Audience Awards for Best Documentary, 1989 Sundance Film Festival): produced, directed (with Susan Korda) and photographed VIENNA IS DIFFERENT: 50 Years After the Anschluss (International Forum of New Cinema, 1989 Berlin Film Festival; 1990 Sundance Film Festival; Silver Plaque, 1990 Chicago Film Festival; Special Jury Award, 1990 San Francisco Film Festival: Blue Ribbon, 1990 American Film Festival); produced SPARK AMONG THE ASHES; a Bar Mitzvah in Poland (1987 Sundance Film Festival; Blue Ribbon, 1987 American Film festival), and associate-produced THE GATE OF HEAVENLY PEACE (1995 New York Film Festival; International Forum of New Cinema, 1996 Berlin Film Festival; Golden Gate Award, 1996 San Francisco Film Festival). Mark Larson: Lead Actor Mark has performed in over 70 stage productions, including Angels in America (Prio Walter), Waiting for Godot (Estragon), True West (Austin), Orestes (Orestes), The Compleat Wrks of Wilm Shskpr (Abridged)(Everyone), The Dumb Waiter (Gus), Incorruptible (Jack), Hedda Gabler (Lovborg) and Macbeth (Malcolm). He has performed at Pioneer Theater Company and Salt Lake Acting company in Utah, PCPA Theaterfest, Illinois Shakespeare festival, Theater of St. Clement's in New York and Teatra Minatura in Gdansk. Mark plays dual roles in Lost Forever EVERETT RUESS, an actor investigating the mystery and Everett Ruess. |
